Grew up in Indiana, attended Ball State University for undergraduate BS degree. Accepted into dental school at the age of 20, and youngest in Class of 1999, graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Completed a General Practice Residency through the University of Florida in 2000. Received extensive training with dental implants and oral surgery during the days, and worked private practice in the evenings to pay down students loans.
Took over an existing dental practice in Apopka, Florida in 2001 from a dentist relocating to another state. Expanded the dental services and procedures provided to local residents. Providing a “one stop shop,” and saving patients time and money by preventing them to have to visit multiple offices and specialists to have dental work completed.
Dr Cohil completes extensive hours of continuing education, in multiple states, each year so patients may receive the most technological advanced dentistry offered in the most efficient manner possible. Quality is priority #1, so patients may receive comfortable, long lasting dentistry they can trust.
Kirk K. Cohil, D.D.S., received a B.S. degree with honors, from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1999, as the youngest in his class. Immediately after dental school, Dr. Cohil completed a Graduate Residency Program through the University of Florida at Shands Hospital, in Jacksonville, FL.
The residency jump-started his proficiency in oral surgery, dental implants, root canal therapy, complex restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. He continues to take hundreds of hours in continuing education, to provide the most modern techniques and service that dentistry has to offer.
Dr. Cohil uses his vast experience and expansive knowledge to create healthy, functional, and natural-looking smiles. Since 2011, his peers voted him, in Orlando Magazine, as one of the top dentists in Orlando. His colleagues also voted him among the “Best Dentists in Apopka,” when voting first began in 2010. Today, he continues to deliver unsurpassed general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry that includes dental implants.
Dr. Cohil has provided countless volunteer hours over the years, helping those in need, in various regions of Florida. He has been involved with everything from Christina’s Smile, Children’s Dental Clinic, in cooperation with the Senior PGA Tour, to spending time at the Vo Tech Research Clinic in Orange County and “Give Kids A Smile,”volunteer programs. He annually sponsors and visits several elementary schools in the local area, to educate children on dental care and oral health.
Kirk Cohil, D.D.S., is a member of the ADA, FDA, CFFDA, DSGO and several local study clubs. He has been a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Seattle Study Club, and attends several premier dental CE programs such as Spear Education and the Dawson Academy.
Dr. Cohil has been a member of the Rotary Club of Apopka since 2016.
Dr. Cohil enjoys playing softball, racquetball, and golf. He is a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and Indianapolis Colts, enjoys traveling and coaching. He is partial to spending time with his wonderful family, which includes his wife, daughter and son.
