For those of you who experience tooth sensitivity, there are a few basic things you should be aware of:

  1. Do not use firm or hard toothbrushes as your everyday toothbrush. Use soft bristles on a consistent basis.
  2. Do not load the entire toothbrush with toothpaste. A pea size is all you need.
  3. Stay away from abrasive toothpastes with baking soda, tarter control, and all those whitening toothpastes. They are most abrasive and will wear your gums away faster, exposing more tooth structure and root surface
  4. The frequency of toothbrushing with toothpaste should only be twice daily. For those instances where you find the need to brush out food debris for improved hygiene, just use a wet toothbrush with no toothpaste (For example, during lunch time).
